Explore the top stories and stay connected with the latest from our business and partners.
Building on our tradition of sharing forward-thinking insights from our senior leaders, Co-Founder and CEO Aaron McDonald recently took to X to explore the transformative potential of AI agents in web3. In this thought-provoking thread, Aaron dives into how AI-driven interoperability is shaping the web3 landscape – and how it all connects to what we’re working on at Futureverse.
Aaron’s thread reflects on Futureverse’s journey from its inception. What started as a dinner-table dream has grown into a company shaping the internet of the future.
In this future, AI agents will outnumber human agents. These agents will represent companies, countries, DAOs, memes, and more, operating across machine-centric value systems (like blockchains). That’s where Futureverse comes in. We’re building the protocols, tools, standards, and applications that empower AI agents to act seamlessly – no matter the network, model, or application they’re using.
By leveraging AI, these agents can understand and interpret various protocols, data formats, and transaction models used across different chains. They can automatically bridge gaps between ecosystems, reducing friction and increasing efficiency for businesses. This means companies can unlock more value by tapping into a wider network of users, partners, and data sources.
”It’s important to understand the web we have today is not the web of the future.”
– Aaron McDonald, Co-Founder and CEO, Futureverse
The agentic web is still in its early stages, but we’ve been designing the systems needed to make it work for years. From agent protocols like ASM, to networks like The Root Network, data protocols like Sylo, and novel models like Jen and ALTERED STATE, we’ve assembled the pieces to power this vision. And we’re not doing it alone – our work with some of the world’s biggest IP showcases the transformative potential of these technologies in The Readyverse.

This November, Futureverse hosted our first Developer Training at XRPL Commons in Paris, France. Over two immersive days, developers, builders, entrepreneurs, and web3 enthusiasts came together to explore the possibilities our technology offers. The training showcased various dimensions of Futureverse technology that powers interoperability for the open metaverse. Participants explored the capabilities of The Root Network, which is our purpose-built blockchain for open gaming and a side chain of the XRP Ledger, gaining hands-on experience coding, testing, and deploying scalable, interoperable applications.
Attendees at the XRPL Commons Developer Training in Paris including Futureverse’s Krista Gambrel, Marco Brondani and Rich Deane.
Led by Futureverse CTO and Co-Founder Marco Brondani with support from Senior Full Stack Developer Rich Deane, builders already leveraging the tech and first-time participants gained valuable insight on how to harness The Root Network's Native Runtime APIs, EVM APIs, and SDKs. From exploring gamified experiences to understanding the fundamentals of blockchain technology, participants left equipped with everything needed to create apps, games, and experiences that will redefine the open metaverse.
The event gave our team the chance to connect with community members already building on The Root Network and created new opportunities for us to meet with others who were curious about what we offer. It was a celebration of innovation and collaboration, and helped empower a new generation of developers to shape the future of web3.
In January, we will head back to Paris to launch the new cohort in partnership with XRPL Commons, focusing on gamified experiences and the future of open gaming.
At Web Summit in Portugal, Jen, the high-fidelity, ethically-trained, AI-driven music platform, unveiled its upcoming patented StyleFilter™ technology in collaboration with Grammy-Award winning Artist, Producer and Technologist Imogen Heap.
StyleFilter™ is a groundbreaking tool that allows creators to infuse distinct musical styles of artists and producers into their own generations.
Revealed on Centre Stage, Co-Founder and CEO Shara Senderoff showcased Imogen Heap’s StyleFilter™, which was trained on two of her latest releases, “What Have You Done To Me?” and “Last Night of an Empire.” Heap, renowned for her trailblazing approach in merging technology with her musical artistry, demonstrated how StyleFilter™ transforms simple prompts into compositions rich with personality and depth — all while maintaining transparency, protection and compensation for the original artists and producers.
In addition to StyleFilter™, Senderoff and Heap unveiled an AI version of Imogen Heap’s voice, powered by Jen and authorized for use through Auracles — an innovative, upcoming non-profit focused on data provenance that empowers artists to control and permission their information and assets — led by Heap.
In The Third Kingdom, players embark on a strategic journey to build powerful extractors, unearth valuable resources, and prestige to level up. The game offers the first implementation of the Material World protocol, empowering players to mint in-game resources that could one day fuel adventures in entirely different games or applications.
During November, the team published a comprehensive blog detailing the Material World and its application inside the adventure-based strategy simulation game.
The blog explains how the Material World is an interconnected and interoperable game economy protocol, allowing players to mint, trade, and use resources that can travel across multiple games and digital experiences where developers choose to integrate them.
The protocol offers game developers a unique opportunity to integrate shared assets across the metaverse, saving time and resources by using materials that already exist within the ecosystem. This not only reduces development costs but also enables them to tap into a larger player base from other games and experiences within the metaverse.
Additionally, developers can introduce their own materials and items, earning royalties based on the consumption of these assets across the network. With Material World’s API, developers can expand their reach, building companion mobile or web apps that allow players to collect, refine, craft, or trade resources.
The Material World protocol empowers the community to control material supply. Every decision in The Third Kingdom shapes the availability and scarcity of resources, influencing the evolving game economy as these assets are minted, traded, and used.
Our team was busy dropping knowledge across different platforms throughout November. Explore the latest here:
Catch up on key insights from our latest Open Space on X. In this edition, Futureverse Head of Social, Krista Gambrel, led an engaging discussion with Aaron and members of our community on the future of intellectual property management and integration in the open metaverse.
The Shillverse is the first project on The Root Network to utilize items created using the Material World protocol. This is the next step on our mission to showcase how content can be interoperable in games across the ecosystem, with users taking resources from one game and using them in another.
Layers of Reality is a generative art series from Root Blocks exploring how humans perceive the world through different layers. The first of seven drops went live in November, with each mint transaction hash shaping unique art inspired by the natural world. Collect full sets from the first six drops to gain exclusive access to the final, special drop. Minting now at Tradeverse.
Big news for gaming on The Root Network came in the form of two new releases during November. We’re thrilled to reveal that The Root Network is the official onboarding chain for the web3 mech strategy game, CryptoGearz. Mining tycoon game MINEWARZ will also onboard to the Network, further enhancing the gaming capabilities within our ecosystem.
Zerpmon is releasing multi-chain staking for liquidity providers. If you provide liquidity to the ZRP/XRP or ZRP/ROOT pools on The Root Network, then stake your LP tokens, you can earn ZRP. You will receive an increased reward rate if you also stake your Zerpmon collectibles.
The Prestige Quest is live. Play The Third Kingdom – build, harvest, level up, and complete the Quest to unlock rewards and a chance to win weekly spot prizes. It's free to play and open to all.
